Danielle Costello, Daughter of Jeff Costello
CFO, Memorial Health System
South Bend, IN
My name is Danielle Costello. I was born February 17th, 1992 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. I live at home with my parents, Jeff and Clara Costello. My father works at Memorial Hospital as an accountant. I just graduated from Penn High School. Soon, I will be attending Purdue University. I plan to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering, and then go to medical school where I want to practice to become a surgeon. During high school I have taken all of the classes I hope will bring me closer to becoming a surgeon. The most memorable class I took was Anatomy. It was incredible to see and learn about parts of the body. I anticipate that one day I will be able to work in a hospital and help people. It has always been my life dream to become a surgeon.
Along with becoming a surgeon, I have many hobbies to keep me at ease. One of my hobbies include playing the piano. I have been playing the piano for 8 years and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Whatever mood I am in, I can go to the piano, just listen to the music and forget about the world for a while. The piano is a passion I will never give up. Another thing I love to do is run. I run 4 times a week for 4 miles. I like to stay in shape, and I think running is one of the most fun ways to do it. My aunt and uncle are going to run in a marathon soon; I hope I train hard enough to run with them one day.
In addition to my hobbies, I have someone to share them with, Zach Brown. We have been dating all through high school, and he will be going to Purdue with me studying computer science. He has always been there in the hardest times and I can always get through the tough events in life. I hope that one day we can share our lives together doing what we love. |

Lauren Kinyon-Dye,
Daughter of Craig Kinyon
CEO, Reid Memorial Hospital
Richmond, IN
My name is Lauren Kinyon-Dye and would like to begin by thanking HFMA for the wonderful opportunity they have given me through the scholarship program. I began my college career by receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana University- Bloomington in 2008. After completing this fulfilling venture, I became eager to begin my graduate studies, working towards earning my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Indiana University- Indianapolis. I am now preparing to begin my 2nd and final year of this program and am currently completing my level 2 fieldwork rotation functioning as an inpatient occupational therapist for Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. I have lived in Indiana my entire life and can vividly recall my father’s long-standing involvement in HFMA as he has been a member even before I was born. I feel honored and privileged to be even a small part of the HFMA tradition and will utilize this scholarship to assist me in making the most of my educational endeavors.

Kacey Carroll,
Daughter of Tom Carroll
Director, Internal Audit
Memorial Health System
South Bend, IN
I recently finished my third year, or second professional year, at Butler University. I am working this summer as an intern at a hospital in Indianapolis. It has been a very educational experience for me, as I am being exposed to many different aspects of pharmacy and healthcare in general. At Butler, I enjoy serving on different boards in student government. I am also, of course, a huge basketball fan, and enjoyed Butler's trip to the national championship !! I would like to thank HFMA for helping me achieve my goal of working in such a wonderful field which I already enjoy! Thank you!

Tara Schulte,
Daughter of Dave Schulte
CFO, Community Home Health
Indianapolis, IN
Tara Schulte grew up in Zionsville, Indiana and is now a second year medical student at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. She plans to become a primary care physician, either in family practice or pediatrics. Tara is currently the President of Hope’s Kitchen and Secretary of her medical school class. She would not have been able to fulfill such high aspirations without the help of the HFMA scholarship program. The assistance the scholarship will bring can make her dreams that much easier to attain. |
