Toni Clayton- HFMA Scholarship - 2009 Winner
My name is Toni Clayton and I am currently an HFMA member and employed at Goshen Health System in Goshen, Indiana. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University and am currently working on my MBA at Indiana Wesleyan University. I want my MBA degree to help me become a better manager in my current position and to provide myself with the qualifications required for future job advancement. Indiana Wesleyan University is one of the few MBA programs that offer a specialization in Healthcare Management. The opportunity to specialize in Healthcare will give me the added tools to understand the changes that are evolving in healthcare and the ability to direct change in my organization.
I have two wonderful daughters that are also attending college. Larissa will be a junior at Ball State University and Kristin just completed her freshman year at Indiana University in Bloomington, pursuing a degree in nursing. I also have a son, Jonas who is ten and pointed out that I didn’t mention him in my essay, so I need to include him now and say that his plan is to attend Indiana University to study music. |

Brittany DeGolyer- HFMA Scholarship - 2009 Winner
I am an Honors graduate of Ben Davis High School. I was a member of the National Honor Society and a Senior Mentor. The most influential high school experience was being in show choir for three years. My senior year I was in two show choirs – one mixed and the other all women of which I was a dance captain. Mr. Cremeans, the choir director, was a positive and tremendous influence on my life. He taught me many valuable life lesions such as accountability, promptness, hard work and its payoff. I love my savior Jesus Christ. The talents and opportunities He has given me will bring joy to my heart forever and all the glory and honor go to Him. |
